How do I clear my web browser cache?

Your web browser stores data each time you access a website. This is known as "cache". This makes web browsing quicker the next time you go to the same website. By clearing your cache periodically, you allow your web browser to operate more efficiently. 


Android

   1. Start your browser

   2. Tap Menu, and then tap More.

   3. Select Settings.

   4. Under "Privacy Settings", select Clear Cache, Clear History, or Clear All Cookie Data as appropriate

   5. Tap Ok to accept 


Chrome

   1. Start your browser

   2. In the browser address bar, type: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData

   3. Select the items you would like to clear (i.e., clear browsing history, clear download history, empty the cache, delete cookies and          other site and plug-in data). 

   4. You can select the period of time that you want to clear cached information. To clear your entire cache, select The Beginning of Time

   5. Restart your web browser


Firefox

   1. Start your browser

   2. Select the orange Firefox box in the top left hand of the screen

   3. Select the arrow beside History

   4. Select Clear Recent History

   5. Select the arrow beside Details (make sure Browsing & Download History, Cookies, and Cache are selected. All others should not be              selected). 

   6. Select Clear Now

   7. Restart the web browser

   


Internet Explorer 8 and higher

   1. Start your browser

   2. Select the Tools symbol from the top right (looks like a Gear)

   3. Select Internet Options

   4. Select the General Tab

   5. Under the Browsing history heading, select Delete

   6. Make sure that the following boxes are checked - Temporary Internet Files and Website Files, Cookies and website data, History, Download History, Form data, and Passwords.

   7. Select Delete

   8. You will be prompted to restart your browser



Internet Explorer 7

   1. Start your browser

   2. From the Tools menu in the upper right, select Delete Browsing History

   3. Select Delete Files

   4. Select Delete Cookies

   5. Select Delete History

   6. Select Close

   7. Select OK to exit

   8. Restart the web browser


       

Mobile Safari for iOS (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad)

To clear cache and cookies: 

   1. From the home screen, tap Settings

   2. Tap Safari

   3. At the bottom of Safari's setting screen, tap Clear Cookies and Data

   4. Confirm when prompted

   

To clear history:

   1. From the home screen, tap Safari

   2. Tap the Bookmarks icon at the bottom of the screen

   3. Tap Clear in the lower left

   4. Tap Clear History

 


Opera

   1. Start your web browser

   2. Go to the Opera Menu

   3. Select Settings

   4. Select Delete Private Data

   5. In the dialog box that opens, select the items you want to clear, and then click Delete

   6. Restart the web browser


Safari

   1. Start the web browser

   2. Open the Safari menu

   3. Select Settings

   4. Select Reset Safari

   5. From the box that opens, select the items you want to reset

   6. Select Reset

   7. Restart the web browser
